LaFlare Mail (Vol 1.3)
Yo, what up. It's your boy Drip Bayless comin' in hot with some news and tidbits to fire you up.
Let's lead off in Tulsa, Oklahoma where in the home of the Drillers, JT came from behind (hehe). Before getting into that, we must first discuss our guy Tiger. He came into the week expecting to win (because he's Tiger) but ended up limping off after just three rounds. The man looked in rooooooough shape reading those putts Saturday, but that's expected when your leg is as broken as Zalatoris' putting stroke. All that said, your boy will pull for him whether he's playing at Augusta, Knox Muni, or a Perkins near you.
Back to JT, he entered Sunday seven strokes behind Mito Pereira, and at the end of the day, the Wanamaker was his. He fended off Willy Z in a playoff after Mito doubled the final hole... absolutely brutal. I've got just two things to say about Mito. He good. He'll be back.
Moving on to the world's #1 golf league, the LaFlare Tour. The men descended upon Egwani with blue balls provided by Wet Wet for his very own Champion's Classic. I mean, did you see what he was wearing? The 2021 Tour Champ concocted a wonderful new addition to the LaFlare format, a blue ball scramble. Wisfh I could tell you what that entails, but I -- along with 2/3rds of LaFlare -- can't. All I know is that Marp lost his ball on the first hole, and that was a bad thing.
Anyways, it was a two-horse race the entire day with Rickey McElhaney and Brandon Lane edging out Zack Taylor and Terry Jay by just one stroke, with the rest of the field a minimum of four strokes back. And, with that, we get to the updated leaderboard.
In 5th place is a force who has yet to turn it on so far this year. He's the perfect mix of golf skill and consistent attendance, none other than Josh Gambrell.
In 4th place is a guy who's found himself on the winning team a couple times and mixed in a couple awards along the way, keeping him near the top despite missing an event, Terry Jay.
In 3rd place is my king, your king, our king: his highness Ole Scum, who's found himself in the winner's circle more often than not.
In 2nd place is one half of the winning team at the Champion's Classic, Mr.Google Result himself (please leave us positive reviews) Rickey McElhaney.
Finally, in first place - dear god, he can't keep getting away with this - is Wet Wet. Like, come the fuck on. Dude is atop the leaderboard due to *checks notes* referrals. Not golf. Referrals. Get it together, guys. Sheesh.

Blooper of the Month
This month’s Blooper of the Month features another broken club by none other than our 2021 Tour Champ and current leader in the clubhouse, Reid “Wet Wet” Elwood. At last year’s Champion’s Classic, Reid was excited to debut his brand new Sim 2 Driver. So excited, in fact, that he didn’t even hit driver on the range pre-round because he wanted to save his first shot with the club for the first tee box. Let’s just say the tee shot didn’t go as well as he hoped. Press play and watch the magic unfold.
